Pulp Fiction.

To get that level of perfection in a movie,Tarantino's direction must have been very good. He got the actors to do such a good job. If i wouldn't have seen them do it in Pulp Fiction I wouldn't think those actors could do such a good performance.

All aspects of that film were just so well done. Thanks to good directing.

any Kuberick movie can be nominated for that. I think "a clockwork orange" has to be the best directed film ever. In my opinion, of course.

I will agree with Thousand, "Clockwork Orange" was a well directed movie, as was any Kubrick film.
As for Pulp Fiction it was a great film, but you mentioned Tarentino getting a preformance out of the actors. I think you should acually give most of the credit to the actors. Sure Tarentino is great, but he only set up the place for them to act. Sometimes it is hard to tell in a film what the director really does becaue you have so many people taking care of everything else, but when it all comes to gether nicely, like both Pulp Fiction and Clockwork Orange, that is when you can tell a director has done a good job.

Two other movies That i thought were very well directed were, The Green Mile and The Shawshank redemption, both by Frank Darabont.

Also if you have seen anything by Kristoph Kylowsky or however you spell it. He is a Polish director who is amazing.

Oh, absolutly i give most of credit to the actors...in ANY movie. I'm just saying Tarantino DIRECTED them very well.

depends what you mean by directing. how the director handled the actors or how he brought about the visuals? which leads me on to say that the actors performance will come from the script and dialogue... thats what makes pulp fiction good.

I agree with all suggested. Especially Fargo. But, I think the best film direction would go to Terrence Malick for "The Thin Red Line."
